Please note that visits to our centres are by appointment only.

During this extremely difficult time the best way you can support us to continue helping pets in need is by making an online donation or by calling our dedicated donation hotline on 0300 303 9876 - calls cost the same as a national rate call.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What donations do you accept? Do you take Duvets?

    Unfortunately we cannot accept duvets or pillows due to the cost and time it takes to launder them. You may find other animal charity/shelters are willing to take them, we hope you find someone that can make good use of them.

  • Do you accept food donations? What items can I donate?

    We can take unopened food, toys and blankets in a reusable condition (if used), knitted blankets, towels, newspaper and shredded paper – these can be donated our Godmanchester centre during opening hours, currently our Heydon centre is closed for donations. Alternatively, you can follow this link to our Amazon wishlists where you can purchase species specific gifts for pets in need.

  • Which of your charity shops are open?

    All of our charity shops have now reopened. You can find a full list of shop opening hours and locations here.

  • How do I adopt a pet?

    You can register your interest in adopting a pet from us by completing our online form here.

  • I have filled in a form to adopt a pet, why have I not heard from you?

    If you have completed a form to adopt a dog or cat, it will be run daily through our system against all of our available pets. You will only hear from us if we have a potential match so please do not chase up your application. We are asking people to please not call or email about specific pets, we hope you understand. If you do not hear from us within 4 weeks, we have not got a match for you but you are welcome to email us at pet.support@woodgreen.org.uk to keep your application open. Please just email with the subject title of – I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A DOG / CAT, from the email you used on your form and we will reactivate your application. You are welcome to do this every 4 weeks whilst you are still looking for a pet. If you have completed a form to adopt a small animal you will be contacted by email, please do check your junk folder.

  • I am interested in applying for a job or want an update on my application

    Once you have submitted your application, you will get an acknowledgement email. If you do not receive this email please resend your application or contact the recruitment line on 0300 303 9333 ext 1263. If you have not heard from us within two weeks, your application has not been successful. We reserve the right to remove the role if sufficient applicants have been received before the closing date.
